#005: Quality over... Everything!
A Note from Jol:
Folks! I attended the Renaissance Faire this past weekend and ALL I could think about was the Timeliner jousting game...
Safe to say that puzzle looks a lot easier than the actual horse jousting. 😅
Let’s get into this edition!
Question of the Month:
“What are you doing to quality control your rooms?”
Submitted by Summer
Soooo.... it turns out a lot!
I’ll admit, I wasn’t exactly sure what our quality control process looked like before this month. I knew that we had SOME kind of check, but WHEW it is intense. Check out what Kamryn had to say!
OKAY FOR REAL:
What is Quality Control?
“QC is an acronym for Quality Control. Our team does three main things, for the most part. We make sure things are safe, that they work, and that they look how they're supposed to!
The shop will finish a component, and we'll get what we call a traveler in our inbox that lets us know what it is and which store it will go to. Then we go through our checklist of each part that needs to be looked at and knock out the list!"
In the video from my time in QC, you'll see a piece from Timeliner fail its inspection because some wiring was exposed within reach! (That's not safe!)
Getting it right
After QC, if a product passes inspections, it then gets prepared to be shipped to its home location!
If it fails, it is either repaired to be up to our standards of excellence or, in a few extreme circumstances, scrapped completely. QC has shifts of engineers who fix things directly in-house, to avoid waiting around in the production pipeline!
See the Ruins Altar come to life!
BONUS question!
“What is your favorite puzzle in your favorite game? :) ”

👀 Spoilers for Prison Break ahead!
I gotta go with a classic, folks. Prison Break is my favorite game! As for my favorite puzzle, I think the chessboard is probably my answer. (It's kinda hard to chose just one!)
I think it's such a unique experience for your first play through, identifying the correct placements and then having it work is SUCH a delight. Plus, when I was a game guide, it was my favorite puzzle to guide people thru.
If you have a fave puzzle, tell me yours below!!
