#004: 24 hours at The Adventure Factory!
A Note from Jol:
Happy April, y’all!
Hope you all are as excited for this next edition as I am! I always love an excuse to spend a day at The Adventure Factory and this question did wonders for that!
I’ll see ya next month for the next question!

Question of the Month:
“How do you make your sets? Are they made by you or do you send the designs to someone else to make?”
Submitted by Marcail M.
This is actually one of my favorite topics!!
And I’m sure we’ll talk on this topic MANY times, but we make all of our sets, components, etc., all in-house!
My first visit to our Adventure Factory absolutely blew me away by not only how large it is, but also how many people are behind the amazing final product!
Now... no one asked me to do this, but I’m gonna spend 24 hours in The Adventure Factory and see how many people I can interview!!

First Stop:
The Print Shop
What is this??
The print shop is a peaceful, beautiful place, home to many large machines and large rolls of canvas. All of our components made of canvas or featuring vinyl stickers are printed en masse here and shipped to all of our locations.
(Plus, some new 3d printers have also made this land their home too!)
What did we talk about?
Abbie, a print tech at The Escape Game, showed us her printing station and the process of creating the Ruins: Forbidden Treasure checklists. These components are printed months and months in advance, and will likely be shipped to locations that aren't open yet!
Fun Fact:
The Escape Game is currently experimenting with printing 3d textures on different materials. Ever noticed that our games have scenic elements of rust or dirt?? Someday, those might be created with a printer and UV ink!
BONUS question!
“Who’s is your dream escape-room teammate -- real or fictional?”
Submitted by Anneliese G.
HOT TAKE!
I think having too smart of a companion would be brutal.
Imagine working with Sherlock Holmes , he wouldn’t be a fun teammate...
(Even though I’m sure you’d escape super quickly)
I’m inclined to say someone similar to Shawn Spencer (Psych), but I think I’m going to go with the entirety of the Scooby Doo Gang. Not only would we get the job done, but I’m sure they’d bring some good snacks...
